Clutch
When driving a vehicle with a manual transmission, oftentimes there is a third pedal, or the clutch pedal, that is used to engage and disengage the clutch to the engine. Disengaging the clutch by pressing down on the clutch pedal allows the driver to shift gears, up or down. Then, by letting off on the clutch pedal, allows the driver to re-engage the clutch with the engine and into the new gear. But, what helps to select the gear as the driver is shifting is the gear selector fork.
