Pressurized automatic transmission fluid, received from the transmission fluid pump, passes through the channels, or valves, within the valve body to allow the automatic transmission to shift from one gear to the next. However, what regulates the amount of transmission fluid that passes through the valve body is not the heart of the transmission, but the brain, which is the onboard vehicle computer, accompanied by its system of sensors.
