One sign your engine is overheating is if there is smoke coming out from the hood of your car, truck, SUV or van. When this happens, you need to take it very seriously. An overheating engine is a danger to you and all the vehicles around you.
If your engine is smoking, pull over onto the side of the road and call a car repair shop. If possible, add coolant or pour water onto the engine without removing the radiator pressure cap. If removed, very hot liquid or steam could burst out of the pressure cap and scald you.
Reasons why your engine cooling system is acting up could be because there is a coolant leak. An overheating engine needs to be inspected and repaired by ASE-certified auto repair mechanics. At 12th Street Auto Care Center, our experienced mechanics are happy to inspect, repair or replace any part of your vehicle’s cooling system to prevent a dangerous overheating engine.
