With disc brakes, the brake pad rubs on a disc (rotor) to slow the wheels. Brake pads are attached to the caliper. The caliper squeezes the pad against the rotor. A common sign of trouble is a grinding or squealing noise. Our advisors can check them out quickly, get them replaced, and get you safely back on the road.
There are a few symptoms that indicate something could be wrong with your brakes. These include less responsive brakes, a burning smell when you’re driving, a fluid leak, squealing, grinding, or squeaking noises when braking, wobbling, vibrating or scraping when you brake or the brake light appears on your dashboard.
When you suspect something may be wrong with any part of your brake system, the first think you should do is call 12th Street Auto Care Center. One of our ASE-certified mechanics will perform an inspection of your vehicle’s brake pads. This involves checking not just the pads, but also the other brake system components as well. They will tell you if it’s time for a repair or replacement.
