Manual Transmission Gears
A manual transmission, generally, has 5 or 6 speeds a driver can shift, including the ability to reverse — the R that is located either on or near the stick shift. Eventually the teeth of the gears can wear and cause damage or harm to your transmission. You might hear a grinding noise, in which case a 12th Street Auto Mechanic can take a look at your vehicle and fix the problem affordably.
Each gear in relation to the other gears create fixed ratios that help to increase torque, or rotational power, meant for speed and hauling heavy loads, which takes the power given from the engine through the input shaft, converts it into torque, and applies it to the wheels through the transfer of the output shaft.
